Monday outing

I’m sitting in a local watering hole with one of my clients. He is spending half the time outside smoking or talking on his phone with his clients. This leaves me alone listening to a couple of coworkers of this establishment chatting on the adjacent barstools to my left.

They are two 20-somethings and the guy won’t shut up about the band he is in (lame, I am sure) or UFC fighting. The girl has the Valley Girl lilt in her voice that has become so ubiquitous over the past decade for those of her generation.

I shouldn’t complain, i am drinking for free.
